Plus, as you move on to more advanced tattoos, this will become more important. While it may not seem to have a major effect for basic tattoos, it’s a quick fix and the results are worth it. For simple images, the easiest way to do ensure this is by applying a threshold.

For the best tattoos you will need a sharper image of true black & white (see example below). Remember you can still scale it down in game if you want it smaller.Ĥ. The larger your image is now, the better it’ll appear in game. If merge down is grayed out, choose anchor layer - this will get you the same result. Once you’re happy, merge down your image ( Layer > Merge Down). Resize your image to the size you want (be sure to leave a bit of space between the image and image border). Next select Tools > Transform Tools > Scale. Paste it into the new 512x512 image that you just created. When you paste the image, it will be a floating section.ģ. Fill in the background with white (under advanced options).Ģ. For basic tattoos your image size should be 512x512. Once you have gimp (with the dds plugin installed!), you’re ready to get started.ġ. To start with, use a simple black and white image. I personally use gimp, so this guide is written from that perspective. In the end, you’ll end up with a unicolor (but recolorable) ambitions style tattoo.
